Bea Grob's weaving career started in Switzerland in the 1980's. Educated in fiber and fashion, Bea attended "Schweiz. Fachschule fuer Mode und Gestaltung" (Fashion Institute) Art school in Zurich. In 2006 Bea completed her Educators Certificate Level 1.
Bea teaches at Migros Klubschule, a large private school in Switzerland, as well as in Germany, Holland, and the USA. Bea is president of "Handwerkkunst", which is devoted to the organization of shows and exhibits for Art and Craft. Annually in November about 60 artists' exhibit in the old castle of Bubikon.

"Mermaids Treasure Necklace" by Bea Grob

Skill Level: All welcome
Date: Wednesday, February 1
Time: 9am-12pm
Workshop Fee: $65 including silk, core and button, C-lon thread in many colors, and braided bead thread.

You will learn how to construct this artfully organic and truly unique necklace by mixing WireKnitZ available in a kaleidoscope of colors, colorful silk fabrics, fancy yarns, coordinating beads, and a button closure. There will be some explanation on how to color the silk fabric.

Prior to class, please purchase WireKnitZ at booth #GP271. Please order fancy yarns in assorted colors from Bea by January 24 so that she can bring your materials. Also bring beads from 4 to 10 mm in any form, fancy yarns and chiffon ribbon in the desired colors. We will share all the tools in class, but you can bring your own if you like.
