Fun & flirty or classic & elegant!  Create the Solar Flare Necklace by stretching, twisting and manipulating the copper wire tubular knit mesh.  You will learn various techniques to set and keep your design in place as well as storage and travel suggestions to keep your unique artwear safe. Kits available in four color ways.

Skill Level: Basic beading skills

Instructor: Norma Melton, Founder of WireKnitZ®

Art gallery owner, decorative arts and custom framing consultant, and Founder of WireKnitZ®, Norma Melton’s artistic aesthetic evolved over a consulting career of over thirty years and now creates her own 3-dimensional wearable art.  While leading her new company, Norma enjoys developing design ideas and techniques to share with others and thrives on the enthusiasm, experience and insight each student brings to the classroom for a collaborative experience.

A detailed written tutorial with color photographs is included demonstrating each phase of the design.  Scissors and Fireline thread provided.

Please be certain to bring the following tools:

Thread burner, Scissors or Wire Cutters for cutting thread

1 - Beading Needle + extra needle

1 - Sewing Needle

1 - #9 or larger Knitting Needle OR  Smooth ended round dowel approx.  ¼” x 12”

Bead Mat

Masking or Painters Tape

Measuring Tape – min. 6-foot

Ruler
