You may remember a few weeks ago we put out a call for artists interested in incorporating WireKnitZ® in their artistic repertoire. This call was inspired by our desire to exhibit at the American Quilt Society Show in Grand Rapids, MI this August. We received several inquiries and selected a few to send parcels filled to the brim with WireKnitZ®. Leisa Rich, a prolific and accomplished artist, was one we had the good fortune of hearing from and now we are starting to see the fruits of her labor. Illness inspired Leisa’s early connection to fibers, and a love of nature and distrust of human nature are the catalysts for her subject matter today. Though Leisa’s early years were difficult, we’re inspired by her creative drive to share herself through her art, expressing her adversities and turning them into positive expressions of joy. Here are just a few of Leisa’s mixed media pieces. To read more about Leisa and her amazing career, please visit her website and blog.
